[Seoul-Roche Demo Day] Aslon Uses AI for Early Diagnosis of Ischemic Heart Disease

Aslon has unveiled a coronary artery disease stenosis screening solution based on 12-lead electrocardiogram data analysis that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to predict ischemic heart disease, the world's leading cause of death and the second leading cause of death among Koreans.
To confirm coronary artery stenosis, a major cause of ischemic heart disease, expensive and invasive tests involving exposure to radiation, such as coronary angiography (CAG), fractional flow reserve (FFR), and coronary computed tomography angiography (CT A ), are required.
Prior to this process, Aslon identifies patients requiring additional precision examinations using an electrocardiogram. Through joint research with Seoul National University Hospital, the model was enhanced by training the AI with coronary artery computed tomography (CT) and coronary angiography data. In particular, the core feature is analyzing the cardiac blood flow status of patients with asymptomatic or mild stable angina to suggest the need for additional tests.
Aslon plans to apply for medical device approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety within the year. It also proposed a plan to combine electrocardiograms and blood-based biomarkers in conjunction with Roche Diagnostics' testing platform.
CEO Nam Ki-doo stated, “Our goal is to screen patients at an early stage when ischemic heart disease is suspected,” adding, “We will provide an opportunity for early treatment by notifying them that additional precise examinations are necessary.”
