‘Growth Platform for Startups’ — Gwanak S-Valley Hosts Scale-Up Event

Gwanak District announced on the 31st that it hosted the “2025 2nd Gwanak S-Valley Startup Scale-up × Demo Day,” an event aimed at discovering innovative companies that will lead future growth industries.

The program is part of the “Gwanak S-Valley” initiative, which seeks to attract venture and startup companies, establish an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and transform Gwanak into a hub for venture innovation. The event provides startups with opportunities to meet investors and secure investment.

During the event held the previous day, Seoul National University Holdings hosted the “Gwanak S-Valley Fund Investment Briefing,” followed by presentations, evaluations, and an awards ceremony for eight promising startups.

After professional investment screening, three outstanding companies were selected to receive a combined 1.2 billion won in commercialization funding. The grand prize was awarded to Arslon, which showcased an innovative screening test for myocardial infarction prevention.

The district added that it plans to continue supporting the eight participant companies through investor matchmaking, follow-up investment opportunities, and the provision of corporate diagnostic reports.

Since its launch in 2019, the program has discovered 100 promising companies, facilitated 127 investment connections, and attracted more than 3.1 billion won in investments.

Gwanak District Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “Gwanak S-Valley is a space for experimentation and challenge, where ideas become industries based on entrepreneurship. We will continue to do our best to strengthen the startup ecosystem so that innovative technologies can successfully lead to commercialization, investment, and market expansion.”
